If you were the ref, I'd tell two of my guys to take off their helmets and use
Them to club anyone in the vicinity while the third guy caught the ball.
Don't be ridiculous. I'm fine with allowing a little more fighting because both are going for the ball, but you can't hook a guy, ESPECIALLY when all you have to do is STOP the play from occurring.
