It always hurt seeing myself as overweight or being called overweight. Getting fat really snuck up on me all at once. Someone would make a comment or I'd see a photo or a video and realize how far I'd fallen.

I think it's more taboo to say something to a woman, but nobody likes to hear they are fat.
