There's a whole bunch of other lanes for passing people. HOV lanes main purpose isn't that of a speeding or passing..
lane no matter how much some CBers are adamant about it.
It's perfectly fine to go the speed limit in the HOV lane and during times of congestion that lane at the speed limit will likely be going much faster than non-HOV lanes.
Seems like you and others want to treat the HOV lane like it's another left hand speeding lane.
As I've said previously..
"If you want to speed in the carpooling lane then fine but don't get all grumpy when other people are using it for a different purpose than you are."
People using the HOV lane like an HOV lane aren't in the wrong just because it gets makes your speeding more difficult.
AFAIK the rules that apply to the left lane on most US highways don't apply to HOV lanes. Please prove me wrong. Please show me left lane laws applying to HOV lanes.

No... the whole point of HOV lanes was to get more people to commute to work together to decrease overall traffic.
