… but the biggest upgrade on Hill vs almost any other coordinator that I can think of dating back to early Bronco days, is he appears to be an (and I hate this cliche, but) “elite” recruiter, which is the foundational building blocks of a great coordinator… this is where Arod falls short.
Many on CB always use the lazy “well if Arod had better talent…” excuse, but that’s just it, Arod may be an adequate play caller (which I would say is generous) …but where he really fails, is the initial step of getting the right, talented guys here in the first place.
When you can’t do that, you hamstring yourself as the lead offensive executive in the program in being able to fully implement his system.
This is where you can tell Hill is much more strategic about who he’s going after, ensuring the right pieces are available to complete and actualize his schemes.
If Arod were a better recruiter, I probably wouldn’t have nearly as many issues with him as I do
