On one occasion, we were able to snap the ball before their last man got off the field and they were flagged for an illegal substitution. Why did the ref back out and let us snap the ball before he was off the field that time? Is there a defined time that they have to get off the field. I have heard they get “a reasonable amount of time”. That seems pretty subjective.
