Your scouting reporting on Jake is slightly off. He has a crappy very deep ball (30+ air yards), but not because he can’t get it there. It’s because the ball floats in the air too long and defenses have too much time to adjust, which has meant Jake throws it further to make up for it and his receivers can’t get there. I hadn’t seen many instances where he couldn’t get the distance until the past few games. Even his tape from junior college showed he could throw the ball about as far as anyone.
