played for BYU nor been in the locker room at halftime, I have no idea what it takes to motivate this team or awake them from their funk. Batty said what he felt he needed to say and if there are "consequences" for it, that will come from the coaches and/or athletic administration. I am sure Kalani can deal with it if he felt it was inappropriate.
I could not see myself doing that and would probably be disappointed if my sons did that, but, again, I was not there and have zero understanding of the circumstances/context.
Did he give a General Conference talk? No. He was also not in General Conference.
I am not excusing the locker room talk, but, at least, he was in a locker room.
