That’s true in college too. In college it just means more because that’s how teams are ranked. A loss is just a loss in the NFL. A team can get blown out by the 3 worst NFL teams and still win the Super Bowl.
A loss into opponent is weighted differently in college. A loss to a bad team used to completely derail playoff hopes.
It’s the consistency throughout the season that matters in seeing how good a team is or is not.
