I don't have any particular brands, but get free weights. Studies show that free weights work much better at building strength and promoting hypertrophy. Don't mess with resistance bands and stuff like that.
Squat rack and bench can facilitate so many lifts. I would also get bumper plates for dead lifts and clean and jerks in case you drop the weight.
For cardio, a tread mill is great during those winter months when you don't want to hit the pavement.
