positions which helps advance the labor. With an epidural you're very limited...some women have to stay on their backs the entire time.

Also when the mother has more feeling down there it's easier to focus her pushing, whereas when they're completely numb it can be difficult to have effective pushes.

That being said, if I was a woman I would 100% take the epidural. But I also understand the benefits of not using one
