They are just doing their jobs. Most don’t care about winning and their major motivating factor is making as much money as possible. So if they can make as much money as possible without putting in the most effort why not just do that?

Most of us could try a lot harder at our jobs too but if it doesn’t move the needle money-wise then we don’t.
