Here is the real reality. If BYU wins out they would most likely to have a top 4 seed. It’s not a guarantee but wins over ASU Houston(not great) and likely CO in a championship game will jump them above some other teams. It’s obvious several teams at the top will lose because they play each other. Your reality and definitive statements don’t meet actual reality.

Is it a possibility they don’t get a bye if they win out? Yes it is. It is also unlikely.
