Yes, full unfinished basement underneath. Home was built in late 1980s.
There is a massive steel beam supporting them:
- both spans are 20' boards
- 1 span has its edge on the far side of the beam, it is sistered to the other span for about 3 feet until it reaches the beam
- 2nd span is 17 ft to the beam and then remaining 3 feet is sistered as above
- X bracing is mid point on each span
Inspector felt things were overbuilt, I question that. Definitely not overbuilt from noise isolation perspective
