There's a nice hike at Paradise on Mt Rainier that you can go up as high as you
want before you come back. Never done it this late in the year, so I don't know what conditions will be up there. But a gorgeous place.
Kerry Park on Queen Anne is a great spot for pictures of the skyline, definitely recommend driving over there.
