At the end of the first half, Jake was hurrying. He spiked the ball when we needed downs, not time. His interception was hurried. Against SMU, he struggled because he was hurrying and not setting his feet.
The offense needs a faster pace; not a hurry up. He’s getting the team set with 5 seconds on the play clock. They are coming out of the huddle with 10 seconds on the clock and he has to hurry.
The crowd was often counting down the play clock for the team!
I don’t think we need a hurry up offense, but, Roderick, IMHO, needs to pick up the pace. Get the play and the substitutions in so Jake can get to the line and take a breath.
