and hesitant all night. Looked more scared than confident. Missed a lot of open receivers, and indecisive with poor choices on cuts on many run plays. I've been a very vocal supporter of Jake since fall camp, and still think he's gonna be a great BYU QB, but last night was his worst game all year - probably his worst game since WVU last year. In fact, last two games have been pretty bad, missing open receivers, and on 3rd down conversions and blue zone converts. We were cruising for a bruisin' and now the 1st round bye is a gonner.
But, I think they got it out of their system, and I suspect they may just remember the CHIP more than the target on their backs going forward, and bounce back. I actually think a win vs ASU is more likely now, than if we'd barely pulled out the win over KU with another last ditch miracle.
That being said, the defense still would have won the game for BYU had luck not run out in pin ball fashion on helmet of Evan Johnson and the subsequent squirt out of Jacob Robinson's arms. That was a total disaster!
