Conference Champ game Winner = good because of Bye into Semis. CCG loser = bad
They end up playing another game, in about a week or so.
I think that is probably part of why they are all saying they WON'T punish a CCG loser ... because they are already punished enough in the system.

The big 12 is very unlikely to be a 2-bid league. But for the conferences that are, the CCG is a punishment, is it not?
