I have two rebuilt titles, AFCU and DFCU both covered way more than 67% of value
on both my vehicles. No issues getting a loan for the full purchase price.
No issue with getting insurance as well through geico / Progressive / USAA.

How low could you hypothetically talk a dealership down on a used car?

Typically depends on how long they have had the car. Otherwise, the only negotiating power I have ever felt like I had

I would love to get it down to $20k… but I’m not confident in that happening.

I don’t see from $26k to $20k happening. At that price point and if it has only been there a few days, a Telluride will

Sounds like a question for the dealership

Just ask for it and be willing to walk away. Won't know until you try.

I frequently buy salvage vehicles from insurance auctions. This is not true.

I would probably go for 26k out the door with everything.

I feel like if I can get a 10% reduction from the listing price, I did well

That's called "relative negotiation" and it's a way to lose

You didn't post the trim level... but average price for a used 2021 Telluride w/50k miles should be $27k.. BUT!!

LOL, no way! Where are you seeing rebuilt cars sell for 40% below book value?

Rebuilts seem to come in at about 25% lower…

I've had better success buying rebuilt titles in CA than Utah. Discount is much

A few threads I’ve come across say to start a backwards bidding war.

just tell them what the highest you'd be willing to pay is and see. Also helps

This is the way. Walking away is a loss for the salesman. Its solid leverage.

Seems like a pretty good price. But I agree it depends on how long they've

Also, this was my first rebuilt title. My brother has bought several

I've heard too many horror stories about rebuilt title cars that make me ignore all the positive reviews.

I agree with all of this. How much do you even trust the body shop put airbags
Cougarite

This is not even close. Don't buy a vehicle with deployed airbags & frame damage

I'm not recommending it, but I'm not discouraging it. Just sharing
