It is simultaneously true that (a) the defense played well but (b) they played
well against a QB who didn't have the same toolkit he had in the first half when he torched them for three TDs in one quarter.
It doesn't mean they didn't play well to say that there is an asterisk on what would look like a dominant second half performance if they'd been facing a healthy QB. Which they were not.
