That would be a tough draw for BYU. I hope they send Santa Clara to Stanford.

I really, really dislike Jerry Smith*, but he is a good coach who tends to have Jen's number. Many superior BYU teams have tied or lost to Santa Clara over the years. Even though we almost always won the WCC title, we almost never beat Santa Clara. We did get the last laugh in that NCAA semifinal though!

*He married one of the players he coached. Sorry if that makes me judgmental but I find that strange. But my bigger problem is his comportment off the field...I have some private insight I won't share here, but even publicly I have to roll my eyes. Even when he would praise Jen or BYU his compliments felt so backhanded. Almost never gave us credit for any wins. And during one of Santa Clara's down years where San Diego got into the tournament "over them" (obviously it doesn't work like that), he made a big public stink about it and basically insulted the program. I just found it so weird and unprofessional to publicly degrade a fellow conference team's success...you didn't have the right body of work and the committee didn't choose you. What does that have to do with San Diego?
