Define "strong brand". BYU has a strong brand... still associated w/ "G5". It is
going to take a while for that association to diminish. Also, the B12 has solid football, but currently lacks the cache of having a true traditional power school. Texas and OU, no matter how well they were doing in a season, were the face of the B12.

BYU is now in a 'faceless' B12. It is going to take some time and out of conference success to strengthen the conference and BYU specifically.

The SEC can ride the coattails of Georgia and Alabama. They also have a very protective scheduling arrangement (only 8 conference games, fewer away games,....). There is no undefeated SEC team. Also, if they played an extra conference game, LSU, Ole Miss and Tennessee would most likely have an additional loss (maybe even Bama this year as well).

The B10 was buoyed up by tOSU, Michigan and Penn State (to a degree). They have now added UCLA and USC (solid logos more than success) and a recently successful Oregon. So, if Michigan and USC stink, Oregon (Nike) can keep the conference alive. The fact that Indiana has decided to play well this year is just icing on the cake.
