a day just commuting and being in airports.

Tentatively we'd fly to Paris, then connect to Copenhagen, spend some days out there, then fly to Paris and drive out to Normandy and then return to Paris a few days before the flight back home. Much less expensive to fly in and out of Paris rather than to Copenhagen and back home from Paris.

I'm hoping there's a better way I don't know about yet to get directly from Denmark/Copenhagen to the Normandy region.
