I think he would need to edit a bit and cut out a little of the information he provides. It was great for a BYU audience but there was a lot of “I was at practice this week and heard Kevin Young telling the guys that…” kind of stuff. In a neutral game he wouldn’t have nearly that level of access and background. And I thought he sometimes just said too much, particularly about himself.

That said, with a stronger play-by-play guy the balance between the two voices might work well. And I bet some good broadcast coaching could help him.
