They are clearly caring about what conference these teams are in, NOT results. The idea that they care "how" teams lose, is a joke. You can't discount the first couple polls, because if you're saying that lets say Texas and Tennessee are ranked where they are, and lets say Tennessee beats Texas (assuming they played), then you still can't drop Texas below BYU because you are already saying that both teams in that game are better than BYU; so adding a loss to either still won't logically drop them out of the top 7.
Horrible logic coming from the committee chair.
It used to always be about WHO you played and beat, period. Seems like beating two top 20 teams (ranked top 20 currently, not at the time of the game), one on the road, doesn't carry any weight for this committee against a team who hasn't beat anyone within the top 25 and has a SOS over 100. Insane.
