I think it's not the same thing, though I grant I'm much less anti-independence
than the average BYU fan. I think it was the best course we had at the time, and on balance I think we came through those eleven years in pretty darn good shape, having suffered some undeniable mediocrity but also having some real accomplishments to look back on.
