First, understand how net metering works where you live and state/fed credits
You can’t really run any meaningful calculations without knowing if net metering is allowed and how much you get paid/credited when the meter runs backwards. Also need to know both federal and state credits available. You want to set up your system so that you qualify for all available credits.

It basically boils down to panels, batteries, and inverter and how these three elements are set up. In a perfect world, I would want to buy the components myself and then have a contractor install it during the build.
