Maybe BYU does need to overpay for our first #1 overall recruit in order to break that seal that BYU is a place that a top recruit can go to and do well at. Also. Coach young is trying to build a brand of BYU being an all business developmental b-ball destination, and there no better way to establish the brand than turning the #1 prospect into the #1 draft pick. Kansas has had lots of #1 picks so they don’t care. It would be huge for us to have one.
