So if someone like AJ is actually interested in BYU, and donors are willing to pay him what he’s worth (or even more than what he’s worth), BYU at least is giving itself its best chance to actually get the top prospects who might be willing to come here.
When the day comes that BYU misses out on lessor prospects because they over paid for 1 big prospect, then maybe this discussion becomes relevant.
Until then, you pay what you’re willing to pay to who is willing to consider it, if they are worth it.
