complete team. That may be true for a team like Kansas who has a total pool of $4 million for NIL. That apparently is NOT true for a team like BYU who has access to more if donors want to go there. In the case of signing Dybantsa, our donors do apparently very much want to go there.
So Self may be right. For his team and his situation with his donors, it wouldn't work for him. He couldn't afford to buy any more players. That's not the case for BYU. Our big boosters view Dybantsa as a generational player for the school whose signing could fundamentally shift basketball dynamics at BYU forever. So they're willing to do more and give more. It's not a fixed NIL pool like Self is dealing with.
