Yup. First round games are for seeds 5-12, and 5-8 get those games at home
Winners of the first round play in the four second-round games against the 1-4 seeds (which had a first round bye). These are at neutral "bowl game" sites (Fiesta, Peach, Rose and Sugar Bowls on 12/31/ and 1/1).
First round bye would be amazing. But even a first round home game would be nice, particularly compared to what we were expecting this year.
