than doing so yourself. I've completed recommendation letters for prospective BYU students many times (100% admission rate, btw!), and BYU's form asks at least once whether the student demonstrates the ability to resolve issues without parental intervention (or something similar).
Also, when my son applied last year, I recall there being no option to choose the seminary recommender--it went automatically to his current teacher (whom he had known for about a week) when he clicked whatever button.
