That would be my next thought, or even sediment build-up.
I'd just replace the valve, personally.

Not a plumber but is the valve partially closed? If it is, open it all the way

Not a plumber. COULD have hard water buildup at that valve causing that sound.

I had this with the internal workings of the toilet just this past weekend. I switched the internal parts
