in consecutive classes? I know this era of NIL is new/different and paying college kids to play at levels approaching professional athletes should adjust expectations of playing time accordingly, but kids still want to play.
There are only so many minutes to go around and a rotation of 9/10 players, at most, seems to be a reasonable distribution. However, BYU will have such a deep bench (talent level) that the remaining 4 or 5 on the bench will see very few minutes and probably hit the transfer portal. Take Koslowski or Crawford for example, both would be all-time recruits BYU’s in prior years - but likely will see minimum playing time this year barring injuries. Then consider the talent coming in behind them (AJ, JJ, Xavion, etc). I want and LOVE that BYU is getting the best HS talent, but worry about retention and team chemistry.
Is there a balance when it comes to our talent level, which has been incredible this year and appears that it may even be surpassed next year?
