I've read that maintaining a high protein intake can stave off muscle losses for
a week or so. But yeah, it's always frustrating how quickly strength regresses when you're not active.

Unless you are consuming a ton of calories, gaining back 7-8 lbs in a week would be very hard. I wouldn't be surprised
