I use ChatGPT/LLM stuff every day in my job (ML, data).
These are very powerful tools. In my role, AI is replacing the number of people that we need. It does not replace any one individual. What I see happening more is just a compression of needs. Products that used to require three software engineers and three ML developers maybe now only require two of each. No one in my place is being fired due to this, but it has tempered who we hire and how much we hire.

AI has not eliminated my job. It still has a long way to go. Without a human in the loop, ChatGPT cannot create the products or code that we need. But, AI is eliminating the volume of people who are necessary to do what I do because I do not have to spend nearly as much time doing more mundane development.
