We're relying on the history and collective performances of MWC and Independent BYU teams in the past, and over the last almost decade-and-a-half, these are G5-level BYU teams who had to compete against a Yewt program that was a power conference member with lots of factors in their favor as a result. As much as we didn't want to admit it, it was a definitive competitive advantage for them in many ways.

Maybe the Power 4 version of BYU will begin a new trend for the next couple of decades that we will all enjoy.
