are good, but most with the lack of tradition and history of the likes of Utah, are able to temper that a bit and reasonably assess the favorable conditions assisting their success.
Utah fans, on average, lack the capacity to do that. They believed they had somehow arrived at Ohio State, Alabama level, and they would compare to those teams year in and year out. They failed to recognize how weak the PAC12 was those few years they competed for conference titles. They also failed to see how far the PAC had fallen behind the other P5’s. They were too busy congratulating themselves for reaching Rose Bowls.
Most of us could see the writing on the wall - that there would come a day of reckoning, that this irrational exuberance would come crashing down hard, and that’s what we’re seeing.
