Let's go back to the Mountain West then and play one good out of conference
Opponent per year. Can't believe we left them for a lowly Big 12 schedule.

But seriously, and again, you can't just look at the hardest games. You have to look at the rest of the schedule.

How many teams are each playing that they could possibly lose to? It's basically impossible for Boise to lose to the teams they are playing once you take out the top three teams they play.

But once you take out the top three teams that Kansas State plays, you still have games Kansas State/Boise could possibly lose on a bad night.

I would way rather play Boise's schedule if you told me you're allowed to lose to Oregon and then get an easier overall schedule and still get ranked ahead of Kansas State, a theoretical one loss BYU team, and a theoretical one loss Iowa State team.

These 9 Bosie games overall:

Georgia Southern
Portland State
Utah State
atHawaii
San Diego State
Nevada
atSan Jose State
atWyoming
Oregon State

Are way easier than these 9 KSU games overall:

UT Martin
Tulane
Arizona
Oklahoma State
West Virginia
Kansas
Houston
Arizona St.
Cincinnati
