We all know (including you) that was purely a PR move and an attempt to save face. If they genuinely took issue with
what happened, he would have been fired on the spot and again I think you know that.
In the post George Floyd/hypersensitive/Woke DEI era — Morgan wouldn’t have lasted 60 seconds if the black players and community were sincerely offended or if it was found to be legitimately racist but since none of that happened, they cut his pay, slapped his hand and everyone moved on — except the super offended white male Cougar fans who were just so personally hurt over the incident.
