To be fair, Pay said on an earlier podcast that last year’s team didn’t give the
fans any reason to believe that this year would be much better.
I think fans were right in not setting crazy expectations, and I think the fans have shown that they support the team. I mean the stadium was at least 95% packed for Southern Illinois and expectations were still very low then.
