Rooting for BYU is a preference - not a commandment. So I would suggest we avoid morphing this preference into an expectation for all members of the church. Consider a counter point: If members don’t root for BYU they are less of a member? Is it bad? Of course not. So I don’t think being a member means they SHOULD root for BYU. Allow folks to make that choice without an expectation.
