The Boeing pensions are not indexed to inflation.

Also - I have a very healthy 401k - also through 35 years of Boeing contributions. If I use a 4% annual distribution from my 401k - I am pulling more money in on a monthly basis than I am with my pension. Pensions are great, but I think people are undervaluing how good 401ks can be. Plus - if invested wisely - 401ks can be done to mitigate the inflation risks. Granted I had to contribute some of my own money all those years - but it came with a Boeing match. Also - there were other contributions that Boeing made to my 401k beyond the normal monthly ones.
