If I saw you in clinic, I would do an ultrasound there to confirm. You can have a tear or a small avulsion where a piece of bone gets pulled off. Standard rehab, reduced painful activity, NSAIDs. That can take a while to heal, even up to 3 months. For persistent cases I will occasionally do injections (steroid vs PRP).

Just a guess based on your description. But ultrasound would give me the definitive answer.
