My thoughts: prior to the Big 12, BYU built P4 level facilities almost solely
with booster money. The boosters have always been there.
Now, with Big12 money, the boosters’ money can be redirected.
A change in BYU’s administration also freed up the athletic dept. to accept and use money in ways previous administrations were hesitant to do.
