It was a pretty big gamble to bank on a true freshman as the backup

And bringing in a player without spring ball doesn’t seem like much of a bet. He must have known the others in the QB room aren’t any good. Bet the season on an injury prone QB to stay healthy or a true freshman. That’s foolishness no matter how you spin it
