Utah's first conference championship was in a historically bad P12, the worst P5 conference ever. Remember we went 5-0 against them, 4-0 against the south division. We essentially won the conference before they did.

In 2021 the P12 was abysmal with the worst non-conference record of any P5 and most of the G5 conferences. They were 5-5 against the MWC, lost two games against FCS teams and their champion had 2 losses against G5 teams.
