Had been sitting on maybe the west side? Or north I don’t know. And a BYU fan (probably not knowing who they were) took pictures of them on his phone I guess just to capture Utah fans looking sad as they were leaving the stadium.
Whittingham’a son took offense, reached for the BYU fan’s cell phone and I believe threw it or broke it or something. A scuffle ensued, and someone with the news got a picture of what looks like a man being held back with whittham’s wife in front of him shouting back at him or something.
I don’t recall if the news said anything about the cell phone, but it was rumored later on that Kyle Whittingham privately paid for a replacement cell phone since it was in fact his son who damaged the guy’s phone.
Someone else might know more accurate details than me. Anyway on the surface and what the news first reported just shows and angry BYU fan being held back as if he’s just attacking Utah fans for the sake of it.
