Utah and BYU fans will often bag on the other by comparing the loudest moments at one to deflated atmospheres at the other. The key difference for me though is RES doesn't get loud as often.

When a ranked team or BYU comes to RES and the game stays close it will be loud. Outside of that, the atmosphere is very average. I've even been there for close games against unranked teams where the crowd filters out slowly in the second half. Some where the muss didn't ever fill up to begin with. BYU is much better at bringing a good loud crowd regardless of opponent or even on field performance.
