Last year's problems, and improvements, are both evident in watching this team
I recall a group that 1) couldn't execute much of anything with any reliability and 2) on a very related note, just wasn't that good. That was less than a full season ago, and many of the current players are exactly the ones who struggled last year.

In 2024, one would have to be blind not to see improvements. Some of the media is still refusing to believe though, and until BYU proves it beyond reasonable doubt, they'll continue to do so.

As has been noted, the O in particular is still leaving plays on the field. Lassiter's talent and ability is evident, but he and Jake need to get on the same page. Too many drops, too many throws that are just a bit off. Not seeing WIDE open Lassiter on the first drive vs. AZ was a particularly bad gaffe, but it's the kind Jake seems to be making less and less. The perhaps not-so-occasional, over-the-top fastballs are a lingering issue. Still overall, Jake's steady improvement is probably Exhibit A in the team's reversal of fortunes. Keep it up 12.

Also, our RB stable has the potential to exceed expectations, but they're hurt like all the time. Get them healthy, and it could be really fun to watch down the stretch run. Moa runs hard, and LJ is clearly the overall, all-around talent.

In short, the team has improved but isn't playing its best ball. The good news is, while they're figuring it out, they're 6-0 and collecting some very impressive wins along the way. Here's hoping they can stay dialed in because if they tighten things up and continue to improve, we could be looking at a very legitimate squad and one that can remain in the national discussion.
