I am grateful for those that get vaccinated for the flu each year, as it is
not very helpful for me to do so.

I have MS and the medicine I take for it lowers my immune system, specifically the portion that creates new antibodies. So, I could get the flu shot, but my body wouldn't make nearly enough antibodies from it in order to be very effective, and I don't have a lot of flu antibodies in my system already, so my body would struggle to fight the weakened cells that most vaccines use to stimulate the body to make vaccines. Just about every time I've gotten the flu vaccine, I get the flu shortly afterwards. My doctors have all told me that every vaccine has an effective rate, and my rate is essentially 1/3rd of what a typical person's would be. Most flu vaccines are around 50% effective in a given year, so my use for it isn't nearly as effective as others. My wife and kids get it every year, and I am grateful.
